		Kudos to groups submitting reports in 2009 Roots & Shoots groups across Canada have been taking action to create positive change for people, animals and the environment. Roots & Shoots group in London, Ontario is challenging groups across Canada to take action on Peace Day. Take advantage of our Peace Day grants to organize your own event. 		Public space – Rethinking our environment Reflecting on our sense of "the environment" and "nature," Aidan advises "stopping to smell the roses" more often and contemplating our immediate surroundings. This, he explains, can encourage small behavioural changes that benefit the environment. While larger scale environmentalism is important, it should be grounded in an understanding of local environments for change on a local scale to occur. Read article.
