Loving Chimps to Death

 

Recently, we were once again reminded why chimpanzees do not make good pets. Charla Nash appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss her brutal attack by her friend's pet chimpanzee Travis, a 15-year old, 200-pound male who had been kept as a pet since he was just three days old. Ms. Nash was horrifically disfigured, losing her eyes, nose, mouth and both hands in the attack; Travis was later shot and killed by police.
