How to Help

Join Jane's Peak Society

An Opportunity to Lead

Jane's Peak Society is a leadership group of our strongest allies. Members make an annual commitment of at least $1,000, to be applied wherever the need is greatest. Dr. Goodall selected the name – the Jane's Peak Society – because that peak, with its glorious view over the valleys of Gombe and across Lake Tanganyika to the distant mountains of the Congo – is one of the most special places for her. From this vantage she watched David Greybeard use and fashion tools for the first time. It is where she saw old Flo carrying infant Fifi on her back, learned about feeding and nest making and the intricacies of the chimpanzee community. She returns to the Peak every time she visits Gombe to restore her inner peace and that strength and determination which we all so admire and emulate.

Jane's Peak Society contributions help us to plan ahead and advance our efforts to protect chimpanzees, invest in community-centred conservation throughout Africa, and support leading-edge environmental and humanitarian education programs in Canada.

As a member, you will have exciting opportunities to become more involved with JGI.

  • wildlife travel opportunities;
  • special reports from Field Staff;
  • Dr. Goodall's "Notes from The Road";
  • invitations to JGI events where you will meet other Jane's Peak members, staff and JGI Board members – and of course, Jane herself.
